Buller Holdings Limited was set up in September 2007 as a Council controlled trading organisation with the purpose of providing a commercial focus in the governance and management of the Council's commercial assets, allowing for maximum returns on behalf of the ratepayers and benefits to the wider community.
Buller Holdings Limited was set up with WestReef Services Limited as its only subsidiary. Buller Recreation Limited (T/A the Solid Energy Centre) was purchased from the Buller District Council in 2009 and Westport Harbour Limited in 2010.
The Buller District Council is the sole shareholder of Buller Holdings Limited.

Stephen was appointed CEO in November 2013. Stephen had been the General Manager of WestReef since May 2010. Prior to joining WestReef Stephen was the construction manager for Fulton Hogan Canterbury. WestReef had shown very good results since Stephen came on board, due in part to increased revenue and in part to effective cost management. Stephen had increased emphasis on securing private contracts and other tendered contracts outside the core Council contracts.

Glenn has held the position of GM Buller Recreation since July 2010. Prior to this Glenn worked in an engineering role with Solid Energy and held various positions in New Zealand and overseas in the outdoor recreation sector. Glenn has a Bachelor of Engineering and is a Master of Applied Science. Glenn is passionate about outdoor recreation and invests his time heavily in many community events and organisations.

Port Manager/Harbourmaster
Mike holds a foreign going Masters certificate and has over 35 years experience in the marine industry, 12 years seagoing experience, 10 years as a marine pilot and 13 years in port operations. He is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and a Member of the International Harbourmasters Association.

Brian has an extensive history of Directorships, professional affiliations and exceptional achievements, most notably as Managing Director (Asia Pacific) for MHW Global where he was responsible for the overall leadership of MWH in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Vietnam and Brunei. Brian demonstrates sound judgement and successfully carries out a very wide range of tasks focussed on good governance and management practice. Brian has been chair of Buller Holdings since June 2009, having previously held a director’s position. He holds an MBA from Otago University and is an accredited Fellow of the Institute of Directors and the Institute of Management.
